WHAT:
Ideal for engineers, technicians and contractors, this one-day course will provide a knowledge base for hydronic and steam product applications.
Topics include:
- Flow control and balance for heat transfer coils (including piping details and valve selection)
- Basic air management for closed loop system (tank sizing and point of no pressure change)
- 1 & 2 pipe layout design strategies (including identifying the ‘critical circuit’)
- Primary secondary or constant and variable primary systems
- Hydronics system flow determination and pipe sizing guidance
- Pump fundamentals
- Parallel and series pumping
- Variable speed pump control practices (including feedback sensor location)

Presenter Bio:
Taylor is a training manager for Xylem’s Bell & Gossett Commercial Buildings team as well as an instructor in the Little Red Schoolhouse training facility. His 10+ years of industry experience encompasses hydronic and steam system design, application, and troubleshooting knowledge acquired as a mechanical engineer, field representative, and manufacturer. In addition to this experience, Taylor also holds Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Mechanical Engineering.
