Dear Valued Customers,

Our Executive Team has reviewed the recent Orders of The City and County of San Francisco, the County of Alameda, and the County of Santa Clara regarding the “Shelter In Place” requirements in seven Bay Area counties. These documents are linked below for your review.

We have concluded that CHC is an “essential business,” and that employees qualify for the Essential Travel exemption because they perform an Essential Activity for Essential Businesses.

I would like to call your attention to three particular sections – all of which I have highlighted in yellow on the health orders which you can download below:

Section 10(b) – individuals (e.g., service technicians) may leave their residence to work for or obtain services at any “Healthcare Operations,” including hospitals, biotechnology companies, or any healthcare facility, etc.
Section 10(c) – Provides an “Essential Activity” exemption that allows individuals to leave their residences to provide any services or perform any work necessary to the operations and maintenance of “Essential Infrastructure,” such as public works, construction, construction housing, airport, water, etc
Section 10(f)(ix) – Defines “Plumbers, electricians, and other service providers” as “Essential Businesses.”
Section 10(h)(i) – Defines “Essential Travel” as any travel “related to the provision of or access to “Essential Activities” or “Essential Businesses.”

i. For purposes of this order, residences include hotels, motels, shared rental units, and other facilities.

Exemption 10.c and f.xv. Businesses that supply other essential businesses with the support or supplies necessary to operate.

Many of our customers have interpreted these orders the same way, and they are continuing to work on their job sites, as deemed essential.

We are prepared to send our people back to your worksites if you reach the same conclusion.

We are continuing to follow the CDC preventive measures to ensure that our customers and employees are safe. You can read about the policies we currently have in place here: Learn More

I will be updating our customers with pertinent information as we receive it from the CDC or other governmental agencies on how it affects our organization. I would encourage everyone to adhere to the latest CDC policies and not panic, stay calm and keep updated with the latest communication.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.

Thank you,
Bob Polizzi
President & CEO
